Background
Performance & Outcome
We took on a complex React Native project that initially featured only a basic app layout, limited offline functionality, and partially working Bluetooth integration. Our team resolved all Bluetooth-related issues, including support for custom peripherals, and implemented full API integration to enable seamless data communication. We added wristband functionality within the app to support data tracking and enhance user interaction. The application was expanded to run on tablets and phones, along with a dedicated web portal page for wristband users. In addition to improving offline capabilities, we introduced cloud functionality that allows run data and sport times to be stored and accessed online. This enhancement enables coaches and teams to review past performance from previous events, providing valuable insights for training and analysis.
ArenaGear, a manufacturer of sports timers, sought to enhance its capabilities to support rapid growth and stay competitive. Their mobile app, which provides event timing without the need for internet, was due for an upgrade to include centralized management of events, participants, and devices. Additionally, they aimed to introduce NFC-based wristbands to streamline registration and improve the overall event experience.

I've had the pleasure of working with Wade Powell for the past 10 years, and I can confidently say he is one of the smartest and most capable software engineers I've ever met. As president of DigitalBlue Software, Wade stepped in at a critical time when another contractor had left us with a broken, unusable app. He and his talented team not only salvaged the project but transformed it—adding powerful features that far exceeded my original expectations. Thanks to Wade's technical expertise, vision, and commitment to excellence, our product is now a market leader in our industry. I can't recommend him and his company highly enough.
